The Clayton-Bradley Academy High School Girls Tennis team finished their regular season on Tuesday evening, with Senior Night. They did so in fashion, beating Maryville Christian 8-1. The win gives The Lady Blazers a final record of 7-3, making them the winingest team in program history. The Seniors were recognized on this night, before the match, in Hannah Rasmussen and Cailey Martin. So they got to go out with two big accomplishments on the night: beating Maryville Christian and setting the record for most wins in a season. But more important than that, they got to celebrate what they and their teammates have done. Rasmussen, the team capatin, shared her thoughts, "It was a really fun night and season overall. Our team was more connected than in past years and more familiar with each other. The team really supported each other regardless of who was playing and we always cheered each other on."
Coach LuAnne Zelasko was thrilled with her girls, "Our team kept coming out to learn and grew closer together the more and more we came out here. I wish we had a few more weeks left, because we really hit our stride towards the end of the season. Our new girls were a great addition and our previous players led us all year long. Every single one of the nine ladies got better from beginning to end. A couple of notes stand out: Natalie Kim only lost one Singles match all year and her and Mia Adkins only lost one of their Doubles matches all year. Really proud of what we did this year. We are so thankful to Hannah and Cailey. The future is really bright, because we do not have any Seniors next year and many of the girls are going to do offseason work. So we are just going to keep building."
