He has been ministering in churches and counseling full time since 1980 in the East Tennessee area. He is also a Chaplain for the Blount County Sheriff's Office.
He has also coached alongside our High School Boys Baksetball Coach Sean Mubarak, who raved about him, "You cannot hire a better coach than him. I enjoyed our time together and cannot wait to work together to lead this basketball program with him."
Coach Kidd first wanted to thank Maryville Christian School, "I want to thank them for their support, trust and commitment to me during my 15 years of coaching all levels of basketball at the school. Their dedication to excellence, commitment to student-athletes and faithfulness to Christian teaching has had an everlasting impact on my life. I will truly miss all of the players that I have coached and wish them the best in all that they do."
He then stated, "It is truly an honor and privilege to be part of Clayton-Bradley Academy as the Head Girls High School Basketball Coach. CBA strives to deliver cutting-edge education to its students and understands the importance of extracurricular activities, such as athletics, in the preparation of lifelong success. I am thrilled to have a part in the development of these kids as they strive to be the best they can be now and in the future. Being the inaugural High School Girls Basketball team, the challenges will be immense. I want to develop a culture of hard work and winning basketball. In order to do this, a strong basketball foundation and the continued growth of “basketball IQ” is a must in order to develop a program that will be competitive and grow year after year. Will there be growing pains in this process? Absolutely! But with a strong work ethic, perseverance, and personal commitment, the CBA High School Girls Basketball team is destined for tremendous success! This, coupled with the amazing education these kids receive, will guarantee an awesome and bright future for these student athletes."
Athletic Director Grant Redmond believes, "Coach Kidd's experience and character are exactly what we need to start and grow this program. He is someone that I have enjoyed getting to know the past couple of years. You can tell from watching him coach and listening to him that he cares about his kids. His teams show on the floor how he believes the game should be played very well. This is the right coach for what we want this program to be: high quality in character and high IQ in their game. I am glad that he is our guy. I trust him completely and our school will be a better place because of him. We cannot wait to see where he leads our girls basketball program."
Welcome Coach Scott Kidd! We are so excited to see our Lady Blazers take the floor with you.
