The 2021 Clayton-Bradley Academy Middle School Volleyball team surpassed the 2020 team's win total, which was a school record, with their 10th win on the season last night. They won against Sacred Heart 2-0, with scores of 25-14 and 25-15. One of the 8th Grade Captains, Mia Adkins said, "I thought we flowed very well. We had this energy that we have not had before. Everyone worked together very nicely, which benefited us because we could put trust in each other to save the play or to make smart decisions. The other thing that pulled us through was our serves. We were very consistent, which gave us positive energy on the court. I am also so proud of my teammates and our effort and drive to win! I think we can win it all if we keep this up."
Coach Cheyenne Burnett was very pleased with her team on the night, "This is honestly the best that these girls have ever played. Almost every time the ball came over it was pass, set and hit. There was not as much scrambling to make plays, it was all effort plays where they were making it happen instead of having to react out of something crazy. I am very proud of them and where we are right now."
The Lady Blazers continue to stay atop the KISL standings, with the #1 spot in Division 2. They have a perfect 10-0 record, being 5-0 in the division. CBA JV takes the court Monday at Apostolic Knoxville at 4:30 for a tri match night there. On Tuesday the JV and Varsity go to Berean for a divisional match starting at 5.
Go Blazers!
