Every meet, no matter where it is or what place they are in, the Middle School Cross Country Boys of Clayton-Bradley push their hardest through the finish line. Even with it being a crazy and different year, they have had an amazing season. Their 5th and final regular season race last night at The Knoxville Livestock Center helped solidify that fact even more. Bentley Larsen continued his record breaking year, finishing 28th out of 275 boys, coming in with a time of 12:28 in his two mile race. Lyle Webster continued to be great, finishing 32nd, close behind Bentley. His time was 12:41. The newcomer to the team has been right behind them all year, in Grayson Steinbach. He was 58th out of 275, with a good time of 13:23.
Coach Sarah Bollschweiler is very proud of her runners, "We have had a very strong showing this year. Bentley and Lyle are veterans at this point and Grayson has learned how to train and compete effectively alondgside them. All three of them are ranked in the top 10% in the Knoxville Region. I am so proud and cannot wait to see how they finish."
They are all looking to qualify for the state meet, as the Regional meet is October 10th, back at The Knoxville Livestock Center. This will be their 3rd time running there this year, so they have the knowledge and experience of what the course brings. Now they just have to show that their training can produce the results they want.
