Clayton-Bradley Middle School Volleyball Coach Atlanta Ervin sneakily filled a water bottle quickly and ran into the locker room, squirting water into the air all over the girls on Friday night. This was in celebration of her JV and Varsity girls winning over First Baptist on 8th grade night. Squeals, smiles, clapping, yelling and jumping ensued.
The JV started off hot, winning the first set 25-16, but then got a little loose and lost the second set 15-25. It was looking dim in the third set, as the Blazers were down 10-7. CBA had 8 straight serving scores to win the match 15-10! It was dramatic and fun to watch.
The Varsity then celebrated their ten 8th graders with their program before their match. These ladies deserve to be celebrated for all of their hardwork throughout the offseason, preseason and during this season. Coming off two losses on Thursday the girls wanted to play better, and they did just that against a tough First Baptist squad. CBA won 25-16 and 25-18 with great defense from some hard serves from The Eagles and some good offense of their own.
The JV and Varsity each have 3 matches remaining before the tournament. Be sure to come out and cheer them on.
Great job ladies! Go Blazers!
