Even though the Middle School Cross Country team was the youngest group that Clayton-Bradley has fielded in a few years, they still pushed through, had a great season and broke several course and personal records along the way during the 6 meet season as part of the Knoxville Youth Athletics Organization. Each runner broke their own personal distance of 2 miles record at least once during the season, with two of the runners, Luke Bacon and Claire Bollschweiler breaking their own personal records twice.
On the girls side of things Claire Bollschweiler set 5 new school course records! She came through strong with these records at Cove Lake, Johnson University, Melton Hill, Victor Ashe and Walters State meets. That is impressive as a 6th grader. The other girls of Lydia, Elise and Bria all improved their times as the season went along and had great attitudes.
For the boys, they had 3 that made all state last year move up to High School, but Luke Bacon held it down by himself for the season. He came through and set a school course record at Johnson University. From the start of the year to the finish he shaved a little over 2 minutes off of his time!
The future is bright, as this group had no 8th graders on it and they just keep on working no matter what.
Great job and Go Blazers!
