Friday was a fun day for Clayton-Bradley Middle and High School Volleyball.
The Middle School ladies started their regular season at home against Sacred Heart for a tri match. The Varstiy started the night off strong with a convincing 2-0 victory, with scores of 25-21 and 25-22. The 8th grade driven team showed that their hard work in the offseason and conditioning under new Head Coach Atlanta Ervin was worth it. The JV then had back to back matches against Sacred Heart's two JV teams. The Blazers won the first match against the "Maroon" team 2-0, with scores of 25-21 and 25-15. The second JV match against the "Gold" team was a little tougher. The Blazers fought tough, but dropped the match in the end 1-2, with scores of 25-14, 21-25 and 12-15.
The High School Varsity team traveled to Loudon High School for their first away match of the season. CBA dominated the night with their energy, communication and effort plays. The Blazers won 3-0, with scores of 25-17, 25-23 and a crazy finish of 30-28 in the final set. Head Coach Cheyenne Burnett shared her pleasure with her team, "We played two really good teams back to back in CAK and Lakeway earlier in the week. I think that helped prepare us for this match tonight. It was a good team win." The Blazers won two matches this week, all while missing one of their starters. So, as the Blazers start their third week of the season on the road, expect even more confidence now.
Great job by all of our coaches and young ladies. Go Blazers!
