The Clayton-Bradley High School Girls Tennis beat Karns tonight 5-4 for their first team win of the season. Coach Zelasko was so proud of her ladies, "It was a great match for the girls tonight. Good concentration was really needed in the windy conditions on Karns' courts, making serving difficult, especially for the beginners. An area of focus we worked on was footwork at Wednesday’s practice and I saw a lot of improvement in their footwork in singles and doubles as a result today. There was also better aggressive net play in doubles by everyone. I could tell from the start of today's match that the girls had a chance."
Senior captain Emily Wheeler, who won her singles match and doubles match, alongside Senior Izzy Miya, shared her excitement on the outcome for the team, "For my singles match today consistency and persistance was the key. As far as doubles go Izzy and I always have each others' back, whether it be in game play to other issues on the court, which is what truly makes a winning duo when it comes to doubles."
Senior Hannah Robbins summed up the night, "Today was a great day for the girls team. We were able to try out some new partnetships while continuing to do what we know to put points away. I loved getting to play with Hannah Rasmussen today. We found that we work really well on the court as far as communication and strength. I am so proud of our team's effort!"
