Clayton-Bradley's Middle School Flag Football team finished their best season ever on Friday night. The Blazers went 8-2 on the season, set many individual and team records, made it to the championship game for the first time and finished in 2nd place in the KISL.
They played complintary football this year more than ever, with their defense being so good that it led to more opportunities for the offense to score. CBA averaged 29.5 points per game and only gave up 7.8 points per game. That is an amazing stat! Basically only allowing teams to score once per game and scoring 4 times per game themselves. There were actually 4 games where the Blazers held their opponent scoreless.
Looking back on the season Head Coach Nick Starkey shared his thoughts, "There was no doubt that we had the best sideline in the entire KISL. Our players were more equipped, our fans were louder and we made history along the way. We are so proud of what our 8th graders accomplished, not only this year, but the past couple of years. We were one of the youngest teams on the field this season. We cannot wait for the future and continued growth of our program. I have been a part of this community for 7 years and this is the most fun that I have had on the field since I had pads on myself."
Great job team! Go Blazers!
